Bill of Lading — the primary sea freight document confirming receipt of cargo by the carrier.
CMR

FCL
Full Container Load — full container used by one shipper.
LCL
Less than Container Load — groupage container with cargo from multiple shippers.
FTL
Full Truck Load — full truck used by one shipper.
LTL
Less than Truck Load — groupage road freight.
ETA
Estimated Time of Arrival — expected arrival time of cargo.
ETD
Estimated Time of Departure — expected departure time.
CIF
Cost, Insurance, Freight — product cost + insurance + freight to destination port.
FOB
Free on Board — seller responsible until goods are loaded on board vessel.
HS Code
Harmonized System Code — international goods classification code for customs purposes.
Manifest
Cargo manifest — list of goods on a vehicle or vessel.
Transshipment
Transfer of cargo from one vehicle to another at an intermediate point.
Demurrage
Penalty charge for excess container or vessel detention beyond the agreed period.
Cross-docking
Direct transfer of goods from incoming to outgoing vehicle without warehousing.
